The students learn to tell time, count by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. They are also learning the days of the week, months of the year, and sight words that every kindergartner should know. We also work on scripture memorization. The whole class does Language Arts, and the kindergartners do math. Reading practice is done a couple times a week, alternating with science and history. The kindergartners have a half-day program where they go home at 11:30 or can stay all day.
First-third graders use our Centrifuge Language Arts program and Addison-Wesley math. They work on building reading skills, penmanship where they work on beginning cursive and perfecting printing. We also use the Wise Guide spelling program with the phonogram flash cards to learn all of the phonetical sounds. We use a variety of materials for history and science. Bible lessons are taught daily, except for Wednesdays where the students attend chapel. Students also have art, music, P.E., and other supplementary activities throughout the year.
